In this training, I teach folks who struggle to show up for the things they want to do when they plan to do them about what demand avoidance is, how it’s triggered by an unmet need for autonomy, why the solution isn’t pushing and pressuring themselves to act, and how they can use three different strategies to reclaim a sense of choice when showing up for the things that matters to them most.
Of the three strategies I teach for better navigating demand avoidance, I encourage students to choose the one that most appeals to them and set an intention to explore whether it may prove supportive for them over the week to come.
