Time on Your Terms

Zoe Carroll

In this video I explore why time can feel stressful and relentless, especially for neurodivergent people, and introduce two ways of experiencing time from the ancient Greeks: Chronos (clock time) and Kairos (felt, experiential time).

I’ll explain how many people with ADHD and other neurodivergences naturally function in Kairos time, which can lead to lateness, “time blindness,” and anxiety when forced into Chronos expectations.

I’ll also share some practical strategies for reducing overwhelm and stress related to time management, and give useful ways to switch between time zones more easily.

I’ve got some prompts to help you explore your own relationship with time and I’ve got a gift for you – my “Magical Mornings” anti-routine to ease into energy and support mornings.

Your Action Steps:

  • Complete the journal prompts in the presentation to understand your own relationship with time
  • Identify Chronos tasks and Kairos tasks and plan for each using the strategies in the presentation
  • Download the magical mornings workbook if mornings cause stress related to time
